January 28th

Brad and Francois went for a walk to La Penita this morning. Brad checked out new RV Park but doesn't think we would fit in spaces. While he was gone this is what I had for breakfast, the sandia y pina were grown locally and the mango was from south of here, the mangos here aren't ready till another month or so.

The circus is in town and Brad will go and take the kids (Luis, Alejandro and maybe Dalia) tonight I think.

They drive up and down the street with all different animals on the trucks promoting it. Too dark to take a picture when the elephants came by, they were just standing on a flatbed truck with about a 6" high railing.

Jan 21st

Went to La Penita to the Market today with Miguel and Dalia. Picked up a few things then dropped Angelica and her things she sells off at home and continued on back to La Penita for a late lunch with Miguel, Dalia and Luis (one of her brothers who is 12). We went to a restaurant that is managed by Jose who was the Bar Tender from the Decameron Los Cocos last year when we were here. Excellent lunch and lots of fun! Brad had a seafood shot which consisted of shrimp, serano chillis, other chillis and more hot sauce. There a couple of pictures showing his reaction.

Jan 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

Haven't been keeping up on the blogs. Not much to tell, mostly lazing in the sun, reading, Brad's usually will go for a walk in the morning.
Sunday we went to Alex's soccer game they won 4 - 0. After their game Miguel's two brothers (small boys) played and we watched them as long as we could but had to leave as Alex had a pick up in the Taxi.

Monday Brad walked up to the cross at the top of the hill, there are about 150 stairs to climb to get to it.and here are a couple of pictures from the top overlooking the Jaltemba Bay.

On Tuesday we had a surprise invite to Tepic with Alex and Angelica so with out hesitating we went, the couple downstairs went also. It's a big city about 120km north of here. Last year Brad went with Alex and Miguel. We went sight seeing saw Legislative bldg, Church, Municipal Square, and the Municipal Palace witch is where the office's for all the Legislative guys are, the Market where from PV and up buy there meat, vegies most of the food. Had lunch there kinda like pita pockets but they're tortillas stuffed also had a drink kind of like a smoothie with lots of fruit OJ granola oatmeal. Very Good!
This is the Municipal Square.

The Municipal Palace where the office are for the Legislative people, and the next few pictures are the ceiling inside and two stained glass windows.

Got back from Tepic at about 8:30pm. Sat and had a few beer with everyone then off to dreamland. Oh wait we are in Dreamland!

Wednesday, today we took it easy stayed at the bungalow, did small amount of cleaning (not that we have to Angelica does it but I needed something to do) then reading, facebook, reading, eating, Brad went swimming and now we are preparing the BBQ for dinner in about an hour or so. Pollo and beans with some brocolli. Maybe a stroll after dinner?

Hasta Luego mi amigos y amigas.
Having a wonderful time, too bad your not here.

Jan 15th

Cool morning and cloudy most of the day with a couple of spits, hardly even worth mentioning but thought it might make all of you feel better that we missed a day of heat and sunshine.lol
Brad went early in the morning to the beach to get fresh fish and prawns for dinner tonight. We are having dinner poolside with the managers and their family and Miguel. Brad also made beans and refried them, corn on the cob and Angelica made salad another kind of beans, tortillas and plantains, cooked on BBQ. Tequila and lots of food, good friends all make for a excellent evening.
Brad went for another walk in the afternoon to pick up a few more things and cerveza. Really not much done today except the dinner preparation.
It's all good.
Love to all, wish you were here.

Jan 14th

Last night was fun. Went to Abel's again and had dinner. There was a big crowd at one table and they were having a great time. Another (couple?) sat with us and they had to send some people away. A couple of Ladies from the big crowd helped him out by serving drinks and such. The Lady sitting with us was from Whitehorse YK, and the guy was from Wisconsin.
After dinner we walked back and sat outside with the family that runs this place we're staying at. Lot's of laughs and fun. Trying to get Brad to use more Spanish and taught him to ask "would you like a beer"? "quisera una cerveza, mi amigo"? he did pretty good with that one after alot of prodding and teasing. Then we tried to teach him "Good evening" "Buenas Noches" he kept saying "Buenas Natches(SP)" and they were laughing hysterically. He was saying "Good Bum or Ass" another words Nice Ass! to people going by. It was really quite funny. Then off to bed.
We're finally getting kind of on track with the time change and the traveling all day, got up this morning 7:30am and had coffee on the balcony Then Brad went for a walk for about 45 min. Came back with espresso for us both, only 6 pesos a shot = .52 CAD. Sat around for awhile and the cable guys came and hooked up (not that we watch a lot of TV but it's nice to have. Then off to the Market in La Penita by collectivo (bus/van) 12 pesos = $1.03 CAD, where we bought some things (facecloths, laundry basket, fish frying thing, and two larger mugs) for the bungalow. We also picked up a bunch of fresh produce and some coffee. Taxi back home 25 pesos = $2.15 CAD. Sat in the sun for awhile then Brad went for another walk and picked up a bit more food items. When he got home we had lunch, went for a swim then nap time. Seemed hotter today but it wasn't, 28 degrees C or so. We are staying home for dinner tonight, spagehti with meat sauce and garlic bread. Tomorrow I think we will go to the beach in the morning and see what's happening down there. No pictures to post, we keep forgetting to take any we're having so much fun.
Miss you, wish you were here!

Jan 12th & 13th day

Well we made it. Up at 3:30am at airport about 4:25am and the counters (lineup) opened at 5am. We moved through quite quickly and efficiently, of course we had read what not to do or bring, so we had no carry on luggage and a small enough purse so we didn't get hassled. Off to LAX, had a stop over there, went out to have a cig and got back through security no problems again. Had lunch (very expensive) then back on a plane for PV. Arrived about 5pm local time (2 hours different from BC) and had a bit of a hold up getting our extra cigs through and paid for. Duty was 228% but he only charged us on 2 cartons not 4. Our friend Miguel and his father-in-law Alex (who runs a taxi, actually it's a van) were there waiting for us and away we went to Guaybitos. Oh hold on... away we went to pick up some cervezas, then off to Guayabitos. It's a beautiful drive here lots of trees and thick jungle like surroundings. After we arrived and unpacked we went for dinner at Abel's restaurant just two doors down. Can't beat the prices 217 pesos for two Shrimp (prawn) dinners with beans (of course) salad and desert and 5 Margaritas. Total CAD $18.66.
Then back to our bungalow for reading and sleeeeping. We were both very tired it was a long day traveling.
Up this morning at 4:30am cause we went to sleep so early last night. Had coffee on the balcony and watched the peace and quiet. Even Brad wasn't too loud. Puttered around and went back to Abel's for breakfast. Brad had Huevos a la Mexican style (scramble with tomatoe, onion, peppers) beans (of course) and tortillas, coffee, water, and I had Huevos with Jamon (ham) and beans (of course) toast, coffee, water. All for 65 pesos $5.59 CAD. Met up with Dahlia and she took us to a store to buy a few things for breakfast tomorrow only because we will go to La Penita tomorrow for the Market (Swap meet) and pick up more groceries for less. After the store we napped then sat on the balcony south facing. Then had lunch and went for a dip in the pool. We have some nice neighbours (Helen & Francois) downstairs that were out swimming too. They have been here since Dec.18th and are staying till March 28th. Brad just went for another nap, and then later we will go out somewhere for dinner and drinks. Temp 28 - 30 degrees C
Having a wonderful time, wish you were here!
